Interventional Cardiology Services
DIC offers both elective and primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) services on a 24/7 basis. This round-the-clock availability is particularly critical in the management of acute coronary syndromes, where timely reperfusion significantly reduces morbidity and mortality.

Dow Institute of Cardiology is offering services of Coronary Angioplasty at its state-of-the-art Cath Lab. We have 2 Coronary Angiography machines and service is available round the clock. We have very well-experienced and qualified Interventional Cardiologists and 95% of our cases are being done via the Radial Artery route. The patients are used to mobilising just after Angioplasty in elective cases and usually, they go home the next day. We have a Centrally air-conditioned 18-bed State of art CCU where patients are used to stay. A complimentary meal is served.

Dow Institute of Cardiology is offering services of Coronary Angiography at its state-of-the-art Cath Lab. We have 2 Coronary Angiography machines and service is available round the clock. We have very well-experienced and qualified Interventional Cardiologists and 95% of our cases are being done via the Radial Artery route. The patients are used to mobilising just after Angiography and they go home the same day just after a few hours of observation. We have a Centrally air-conditioned 18-bed State of the art Coronary Care Unit where patients are used to stay after Angiography. A complimentary meal is served.

The clock primary PCI facility available at Dow Institute of Cardiology cath lab is well equipped with all necessary gadgets and our 3 well trained PSIC certified interventional cardiologists remained on call.

We have the facility of Bypass surgery at our Institute. We have two well-experienced and qualified teams of surgeons. The operation theatre is state of the art with a backup of centrally air-conditioned fully equipped Cardiac ICU. Our quality service ensures a speedy recovery and the patient goes home mostly on his 5th day of surgery.

We have 2 Treadmill machines and the service is available from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. All the tests are being done under the supervision of senior doctors and technicians. The report is usually handed over to the patient on the same day just after finishing the test.

Our Echo department is one of the busiest departments of the institute. It provides all modalities of advanced Echocardiography like Transthoracic, Transesophageal, Doppler, Bubble Contrast, Tissue doppler, as well as Stress Echo both DSE/TSE imaging is also available at our department at very economical prices. We have qualified faculty for Echocardiography who have followed ship in Echocardiography from prestigious institutes. Our Department is also approved for Diploma in Echocardiography and provides training to technologists who are aimed to practice as Echo Technologists.

The Cardiology Department of our Institute has been recognized for FCPS training in the subject of adult Cardiology. We have very senior and experienced supervisors and a well-organized teaching programmer. Currently, we are doing the following academic activities at our department:

1. Ward Presentations – Daily Except for Sunday – The session is presided over by the chairman and Professor of Cardiology.

2. Journal Club every Friday – Presided by Director.

3. Case Presentation and Cath meeting – Every Monday.

4. ECG class – Every Tuesday.

5. Nursing Session – Every Thursday -Bedside teaching – Daily

6. Heart team meeting – Every Monday and Wednesday

7. Mortality and Morbidity Meeting- Monthly on last Saturday

We have well equipped Cardiac outpatient department with onsite ECG facilities. We have two parallel OPDs in the morning hours with normal charges of 500 Rs. For ECG 250 Rs. We also have executive OPD in the evening hours.

A blood pressure monitor is used to measure and record your blood pressure over 24 hours during your normal daily routine. It can be used to diagnose conditions such as high blood pressure (hypertension).

It is sometimes used to diagnose a condition called white coat hypertension, which is when high blood pressure readings are caused by being in a clinical environment, such as a doctor’s surgery or a hospital.

It can also be used to assess the use of medication for blood pressure control.

The Holter monitor is a type of portable electrocardiogram (ECG). It records the electrical activity of the heart continuously over 24 hours or longer while you are away from the doctor’s office. A standard or “resting” ECG is one of the simplest and fastest tests used to evaluate the heart. Electrodes (small, plastic patches that stick to the skin) are placed at certain points on the chest and abdomen. The electrodes are connected to an ECG machine by wires. Then, the electrical activity of the heart can be measured, recorded, and printed. No electricity is sent into the body.
