Community Service & Sustainability Society (CSSS)

About Us

At the Institute of Business and Health Management (IBHM), Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), the Community Service and Sustainability Society (CSSS) serves as a vibrant platform dedicated to social welfare, youth empowerment, and environmental sustainability. Through student-driven and faculty-supported initiatives, CSSS promotes civic responsibility and encourages meaningful community engagement. Formerly known as the Community Service Society, the organization was renamed on February 1, 2022, to better reflect its expanded vision and commitment to addressing evolving social and environmental challenges.

CSSS aligns its programs and activities with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on quality education, poverty alleviation, social inclusion, and environmental responsibility. By implementing targeted initiatives with measurable outcomes, the society strives to create lasting and meaningful improvements in the lives of underprivileged communities, fostering value-based, inclusive, and sustainable social development.

In furtherance of its mission to promote environmental stewardship and youth leadership, the Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club was established at IBHM-DUHS on October 1, 2021, under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The objective of forming the GYM  Club is to actively contribute toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations General Assembly by mobilizing students and faculty for sustainable action. Through hands-on activities, awareness campaigns, and community-driven interventions, the GYM Club empowers youth to become agents of change, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and collective action for a greener and more sustainable future.

It gives me immense pride to share the journey of the Community Service and Sustainability Society (CSSS) at IBHM-DUHS. Our society is dedicated to empowering youth, promoting social welfare, and advancing environmental sustainability. Since our formation and renaming in 2022, CSSS has remained committed to creating meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of underprivileged communities, aligning all our initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through education, community development initiatives, CSR programs, and transparent fundraising, we strive to address key challenges such as illiteracy, poverty, social inclusion, and environmental responsibility. Our Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club exemplifies the active participation of our faculty and students in hands-on initiatives like plantation drives, cleaning campaigns, water and energy conservation projects, and eco-tourism awareness programs.

At CSSS, we believe in nurturing values like integrity, empathy, collaboration, and accountability, ensuring that every effort we make contributes to building peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable communities. I invite all students, faculty, and partners to join us in this journey of social responsibility, innovation, and meaningful change. Together, we can create a society that is equitable, resilient, and environmentally conscious.
