Health Awareness and Education
In continuation to the Civic-Engagement Program of the Department of Community Dentistry of Dow International Dental College organized one-day Education and Awareness Camp at the Madrasa Jamia Ishaat-ul- Quran (Trust Masjid Bilal) Gujrat Colony Baldia Town 3 on 12th September 2024.
Our Dental team comprising of 10 undergraduate students lead by Dr. Rida Batool. Dental and Oral Health examination of these children were performed followed by recording their oral hygiene habits including tool and frequency for cleaning teeth, betel nut consumption, and use of Miswak.
Out of 100 students, between age 15 to 25 years who were examined, majority (more than 35%) were found with hypoplastic tooth indicating lack of nourishment. It was also found that despite regular use of Miswak and tooth brush, plaque and heavy calculus, bleeding gums, were found indicating lack of awareness about best practices of oral hygiene
