Admissions in PhD in Nursing (Split-Site)

Following is the eligibility​ criteria for 2023-2024 admission cycle for PhD in Split-Site Nursing at SPGS:

• Pakistani national with Sindh province domicile.
• A total of 18 years of education which involves:
  • BSN or Post-RN
  • MSc/MPhil/MSN obtained within the last five (5) years.
    • Completed quality research thesis in the Master’s program.
• Satisfactory postgraduate experience ideally in an academic institution.
• Must meet all the eligibility criteria for admission into a PhD program of both Dow University of Health Sciences and the University of Manchester.
• Proficiency in English:
  • ILETS score of 7.0 or above (or 6.5 and above in each component)
  • TOEFL IBT with an overall score of 100 (with a minimum score of 25 in each component)
  • Scores must be valid on the start date of this program (scores are only valid for two years)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

• During the PhD program, selected candidate will be employed as a faculty in the Dow Institute of Nursing & Midwifery, Dow University of Health Sciences.
• Selected candidates must:
  • Submit a fully executed surety bond from a guarantor to serve Dow University of Health Sciences after graduation for at least a period equivalent to the duration of the study.
    • In an event of a failure to fulfill this mandatory requirement, Dow University of Health Sciences reserves the right to:
      • Seek legal action to recover the expenses related to this
        program of study.
      • Deny the issuance of an experience certificate.
  • Sign a Split-site PhD agreement between Dow University of Health Sciences, University of Manchester, and the student.
• In addition to applying for admission in Dow University of Health Sciences, selected applicants are also required to complete the University of Manchester application.
• Selected candidate must complete all degree requirements within the specified duration of the PhD program.
