On August 5th, 2024, a momentous occasion took place with Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, celebrating a significant achievement: the first-time availability of the DOWRAB (Human Rabies Vaccine), a product of Dow University of Health Sciences, in KMC-governed hospitals.
A small ceremony was organized at the KMC office to honor Mayor for his commitment to patient welfare and to reaffirm DUHS’s mission to protect communities from the deadly disease. Mayor Murtaza Wahab expressed his steadfast support for the cause and announced plans to visit DOW Ojha to commend the dedication and excellence of the production and research teams.
A memento was presented to Mayor Wahab, acknowledging his invaluable support and contribution. This was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the availability of the DOWRAB vaccine in KMC hospitals for the first time.
Attendees from DUHS included Dr. Izhar Hussain (CEO/MD DILS), Syed Tariq Shahid, and M. Ahad Wasiq. Representatives from M&P included Mujeeb Ali Khan and M. Ayaz.
