This independence day the DUHS sports fraternity decided to join the Monsoon Plantation Campaign of the Sindh Forestry Department (SFD) to plant Mangroves around the Port Qasim Area. (Pictures Attached)

The achievement of the SFD over the years is applauding. We hold 3 Guinness World Records,2008,2013 and 2017 for mangroves plantation. Our record is still intact. We traded carbon credits worth 3.21 billion in international market proving we are playing an intense role to maintain a greener pollution free world.

Our team all geared up to join hands with the SFD sailed on boats across the sea for around an hour to reach the location.

Sometime in history 8 species of mangroves were known to exist in our region while now only 4 are seen. Our team witnessed and planted one of the rarest mangrove specie the Arid Mangrove. Dua was made and we left the location with a vow that we will keep a watch on the growth of our planted saplings.

Our hydration was taken care of by the SFD with juices. The hospitality and enthusiasm of the SFD highlights the fervour of the department to do the best to serve humanity, preserve the green world and plant their part in the soil forever.

Dow University of Health Sciences joining hands with the Sindh Forestry Department reiterates the determination of our health sector to ensure a healthier world through nature.
