Impact of Ration Drive 2024 – Rishta Ahsas Ka
The Community Service & Sustainability Society (CSSS), IBHM-DUHS, successfully organized the annual Ramadan Ration Drive on 5th April 2024 under the theme Rishta Ahsas Ka. A total of 45 deserving families, including janitorial staff, guards, drivers, lift operators, and other DUHS employees, were provided with grocery packages sufficient for 20 days.
An amount of PKR 109,845 was spent on essential grocery items such as rice, flour, sugar, lentils, ghee, tea, vermicelli, and Rooh Afza. Eleven CSSS members contributed around 24 volunteer hours in fundraising, purchasing, packaging, and distribution. The activity reduced the financial burden of low-income employees during Ramadan, promoted dignity, and ensured food security for their families.
It also created emotional and social value by strengthening the bond of empathy between students and staff, while building a positive institutional image of IBHM-DUHS. Students developed key skills in fundraising, communication, financial record-keeping, and teamwork, along with a deeper sense of compassion and responsibility. The drive aligned with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), contributing to both individual welfare and sustainable community impact.
