The Orientation Day for newly inducted FCPS and MCPS trainees (January & July 2025 sessions) was successfully held on Friday, 1st August 2025, at the Muin Auditorium, DMC Campus, Dow University of Health Sciences.
The program commenced at 9:30 AM, formally welcoming the incoming postgraduate trainees to begin their academic and clinical journey at DUHS. Attendance was mandatory, underscoring the importance of acquainting trainees with institutional expectations from the very beginning.
The event began with the arrival and introduction of the faculty and students, creating a professional and inclusive atmosphere. The formal proceedings started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, instilling a sense of respect and unity.
Prof. Sajida Qureshi, Principal of SPGS, delivered the welcome address, outlining the vision and structure of the postgraduate programs. She also led the Oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing commitment and fairness within the medical profession.
Dr. Ubaid, FCPS Program Coordinator, presented a detailed overview of FCPS training protocols, including registration procedures, academic expectations, and documentation guidelines.
Vice Principals Prof. Danish Haseen and Prof. Sonia Siddiqui further elaborated on academic standards, introduced the trainee feedback portal, and discussed key institutional policies on harassment and plagiarism, stressing the importance of professionalism and integrity.
The session concluded with a Question & Answer segment, allowing trainees to address their concerns and begin their programs with greater clarity and confidence.
Overall, the Orientation Day served as a meaningful and structured introduction to postgraduate life at DUHS, fostering a strong sense of belonging, purpose, and readiness among the new trainees.
