Dr. Babar Rao Visits Dow–APPNA Center of Emerging Technologies (DACET)
Dr. Babar Rao (President-Elect 2026, Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America – APPNA) visited Dow University of Health Sciences (Ojha Campus) on 30th December 2025 and toured the Dow–APPNA Center of Emerging Technologies (DACET).
He was accompanied by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan, Prof. Ambreen Qamar (Focal Person, DUHS–APPNA Affairs), Mr. Abdul Rahim (Director, Works & Services), Engr. Abdullah (Works & Services), and Mr. Shahzad Ahmed (IT Head).
During the visit, Dr. Babar Rao reviewed the progress update of DACET and held detailed discussions on future steps for the completion and operationalization of the Center.
The Dow–APPNA Center of Emerging Technologies (DACET) is a groundbreaking joint initiative of Dow University of Health Sciences and APPNA, and the brainchild of APPNA President 2024, Dr. Asif Mohiuddin. As the first center of its kind in a public-sector medical university, DACET aims to promote training and application of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to strengthen medical education, research, and patient care in Pakistan.
