World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on September 25th each year to recognize the vital contributions of pharmacists to society. This year’s theme, “Pharmacists strengthening health systems,” highlighted their role in patient care and medication management.
Dow College of Pharmacy at Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi observed World Pharmacist Day on September 30th. The event began with a community walk to symbolize unity among pharmacists for healthcare. Various activities and educational sessions focused on medication safety and advancements in pharmaceutical care followed the walk. Distinguished guests, speakers, and experts in the field shared insights throughout the day.
The event featured a scientific poster and model competition inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Saeed Quraishy. Eminent personalities, including Mr. Syed Farooq Bukhari and Dr. Shaikh Kaiser Waheed, graced the occasion as guests of honor.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged programs for Transplant Pharmacists to meet emerging needs. Principal Prof. Dr. Sumbul Shamim welcomed attendees and highlighted the competition among 100 students who submitted their research proposals.
