On October 21, 2024, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) hosted a highly impactful awareness session in honor of Global Iodine Deficiency Disorder Day. Organized by the Nutrition Department of the School of Public Health in collaboration with Nutrition International, the event addressed the critical issue of iodine deficiency, particularly in Sindh Province.
The session, held at the School of Public Health Auditorium at the Ojha Campus, featured an insightful talk by Dr. Fatima Saad, Provincial Manager at Nutrition International, who emphasized the importance of iodine in cognitive development and overall health. Faculty, students, and healthcare professionals participated actively, making the event a success.
The event aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 3—Zero Hunger and Good Health and Well-Being.
