As part of the co-curricular activities for Pharm-D students, the Department of Pharmaceutics, under the auspices of Dow College of Pharmacy, organized educational visits to leading pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, including Hoechst Pakistan, Brookes, Macter International, and Nabiqasim Pharma.
The initiative was conducted under the leadership of Dean & Principal Prof. Dr. Sumbul Shamim and facilitated under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Tariq Ali, Chairperson, Department of Pharmaceutics, with exceptional support from Vice Principal Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Arshad.
The visits were supervised by esteemed faculty members of Dow College of Pharmacy, including Dr. Mehwish Rizvi, Dr. Shumaila Shafique, Dr. Omer Mustapha, Dr. Riffat Yasmin, Dr. Wajiha Iffat, Dr. Sana Ghayas, Dr. Rahila Bano, Dr. Mehwish Akhtar, Dr. Hina Saleem, Dr. Imran Ahsan Mallick, and Dr. Saba Inayat.
These industrial visits aimed to provide hands-on learning opportunities and practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing practices. Students observed the production processes of oral solid dosage forms, liquid dosage forms, and sterile products, including antibiotics. They also gained valuable insights into Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, strengthening their understanding of regulatory compliance and industrial standards.
The visits catered to students from both morning and evening shifts, serving as an excellent platform for career guidance, experiential learning, and professional development.
