The poster competition for BDS 2nd-year students from Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan Institute of Oral Health Sciences (DIKIOHS), Dow International Dental College, and Dow Dental College, was successfully held on 12th September 2024. Themed “Crafting Smiles with Innovative Dental Materials,” the event took place at the Department of Science of Dental Materials, DIKIOHS.
Judges for the competition included Prof. Dr. Kashif Naqvi, Principal, Bahria Dental College; Prof. Dr. Naveed Rasheed, Principal, Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry; Prof. Dr. Nadeem Hafeez Khokhar, Professor & Head of Pre-Clinical Dentistry, Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry; and Prof. Dr. Kashif Shafique, Principal, School of Public Health and Director ORIC, Dow University of Health Sciences.
The event was graced by the presence of Pro Vice Chancellor and Medical Superintendent, Prof. Dr. Jahan Ara Hassan, and Registrar Ashar Afaq of DUHS, further elevating the significance of the occasion.
The event was organized by Dr. Khurram Parvez, Vice Principal of DIKIOHS, along with a dedicated team that included Dr. Sofia Malik, Dr. Khuwaja Hammad, Dr. Irtiza, Dr. Kainat, Dr. Nazra, Mr. Ansar, and Mr. Rais.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Sofia Malik initiated the program, followed by a tilawat of the Quran by Mr. Zahid Hussain. Dr. Khurram Parvez extended his appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for fostering a research-driven environment and providing financial support for the event.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from the judges and esteemed guests, including Prof. Dr. Kashif Shafique, Prof. Dr. Naveed Rasheed, Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed (Dean, Faculty of Dentistry), Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali (Principal, DIKIOHS), and Prof. Dr. Naresh Kumar (Chairperson, Department of Science of Dental Materials).
The event was marked as a vibrant and successful celebration of innovation in dental materials research.
