The Dow Clinical & Research Laboratory has been established to provide reliable, high quality diagnostic services of International standard for routine and specialized tests at, extremely economical rates for all socioeconomic segments of population. The tests are performed by a team of qualified and experienced technicians, supervised by Pathologists. Besides the main lab, presently there are five collection centers of Dow Lab, near Civil Hospital, Jinnah Hospital in Malir, Nazimabad and Federal B Area, to provide easy accessibility to the clients for diagnostic laboratory services. Soon more collection points will also be established.
The research facilities provide help to postgraduates of MPhil and PhD.  Researchers are supported with the provision of tests at very low cost and with advance technology.

All steps are taken to meet international standards of proficiency testing. It has up til now performed more than one million tests and about 20 research studies have been completed.

It has separate sections of Histopathology, Molecular Pathology, Chemical Pathology, Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood bank, Cytology and Biochemistry with provision of electronic reporting and image transfer facilities. Latest state of art equipments, provide full range of specialized tests including those for exact characterization of tumors. All biochemistry hematological tests, hormonal assays and tumor markers are performed on fully automated analyzers.

Minor surgical procedures like Fine Needle Aspiration and Bone Marrow Biopsy are also available at Dow Lab. Special attention is paid for the maintenance of intra laboratory and inter laboratory quality control of the tests performed at Dow lab.

CRYOSECTION (Frozen Section) facility has also been provided to provide intra operative consultation at the theatre complex. This will help in having the specimen for special studies eg molecular pathology techniques and flow cytometry which will help surgeons in clearly demarcating residual cancer tissue. This facility will not only benefit the patient outcome but will also improve skills of surgeons and pathologists for molecular and genetic studies.
