About Us

With the establishment of Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), Department of Research was created with the aim of strengthening the efforts to produce high quality research and create a research culture at the University. The department has a significant role both in teaching as well as monitoring the processes related to research at DUHS. For practical reasons, many sections and processes are in place at the Department of Research to strengthen the advancement of research culture at DUHS from 2007. Some of the activities at the Department include:

 

  • Registration and approval of research proposals by Institutional Review Boards (IRB).
  • Establishment of Scientific Committee for assessment and approval of Master’s and PhD students’ research proposal for degree completion.
  • Official organizer for review, examination and approval of Postgraduate (Master/PhD) student’s research thesis and projects.
  • Publishing Journal of Dow University of Health Sciences (JDUHS).
  • Faculty and student research poster competition to stimulate interaction between researchers.
  • Annual Research Week organization with a poster competition on Provincial Level.
  • Besides teaching in graded courses and degree programs, occasional training workshops are arranged to increase the knowledge of research related courses among faculty and students.
  • Department of Research was also instrumental in implementing the HEC’s foreign scholarship program for University’s Human Resource Development.
